Abstract
A novel system for measuring Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) for mobile telephones is herein introduced. The issue of validating the measurement probe has required knowledge of the electric fields close to the antenna under test. For validation purposes, a wire dipole has been considered. The measured values of near electric field for a dipole at 1800 MHz and 900 MHz were obtained in a DASY4 SAR test station. Simulations performed using Flomerics´ Microstripes for the same physical scheme are generally in good agreement with the measurement data.
