Abstract :
Focus on the discontinuity of streaming media play-out which caused by network delay and delay jitter, an improved play-out control algorithm is proposed in order to keep streaming media play-out smoothly, which based on the adjustment of receiver play-out speed. In the algorithm, a fine granularity adjustment of streaming media playback rates according to the occupied buffer level and the use of play-out speed control sequence is adopted to eliminate the intention of buffer underflow or overflow. Simulation results show that the proposed algorithm is more effect to avoid the skip and stop, and keep the playback smoothly.
