Abstract :
Internal Model Control is a popular industrial control method, which can be made adaptive through the introduction of adaptive filters. In this paper, we describe a method for augmenting such control structures in order to control plants with unspecified sensors, and subject to unspecific, time-varying noise. Our technique is based on adding correlators to adaptive filters. This technique is also applicable to MIMO systems. Potential applications include control systems equipped with distributed sensors and systems subject to time-varying wide-band noise. Computations are simple and suitable for parallel execution.
