Abstract :
The control methods and operation characteristics of D-STATCOM under unbalanced grid voltage are studied in this paper. Through methods of switching function and sequence network, the effects on voltage output of D STATCOM caused by grid voltage unbalance and its over current are analyzed. The performance of voltage output of D-STATCOM is improved with modified modulation method of switching function. And with negative-sequence feed-forward control strategy for restraining over current, the over current of D-STATCOM under grid voltage unbalance is effectively prevented, and the output performance of D-STATCOM inverter is improved. Simulation result shows the correctness and effectiveness of the conclusion and control strategy proposed in the paper.
