Abstract
Ad hoc networks have recently been proposed as a means of providing in-flight Internet access to airline passengers flying in remote or oceanic regions. In this paper, we consider three different protocol architecture candidates based on IPv6 for providing Internet connectivity to the passengers. We provide a qualitative analysis and discuss their respective drawbacks and advantages in the aeronautical environment.
