Abstract :
Ubiquitous end-to-end communications are a major component of the net-centric vision of the global information grid (GIG). This paper analyzes emerging technologies that makes up the GIG transport including IPv6, MPLS, and the black core and proposes design approaches for their use in the GIG. The paper offers some innovative scenarios of how IPv6-to-MPLS interworking can be used for performance improvements in the black core
