Abstract :
With the extending of power grid and the increasing of data amount, traditional data presentation means of scheduling system can´t afford to display large and complex information visually and effectively. In order to monitor the grid timely and accurately, more advanced and intuitive tools are imperative to electric power dispatchers. In this article, OpenGL visualization technology will be used in power flow calculation and analysis. Furthermore, the theory and process on using animation arrow to indicate line power flow direction, using pie chart to show the line load, and visually displaying the telemeter value will be introduced in detail. And then, the functions mentioned above are realized in power flow visualization through VC++ and OpenGL mixed programming, which proposes a new idea for the development of power system monitoring visualization.
