Abstract
Elimination of power line interference in ECG signals using an adaptive noise cancelling (ANC) approach is investigated. When a reference signal is not available, it is possible to generate an internal reference and obtain satisfactory performance provided the reference frequency is closely matched to the interference. A maximum-likelihood estimator for the frequency is proposed and combined with the ANC filter.<>
