Abstract
The author presents an approximation of an ECG (electrocardiogram) signal with nonuniformly distributed knots for the case where the signal contains added noise. He finds that it is possible to use spline functions for analysis of a noisy ECG signal if the signal/noise ratio equals at least 10 without accumulation or equals 30 after accumulation of 10 repetitions.<>
