Abstract
A new method of displaying time-frequency characteristics of the transient evoked otoacoustic emissions (TEOAEs) that represents the whole frequency range of the ear and is independent of the ear canal/probe system is proposed. In the linear portion of the otoacoustic emission generating system, the proposed stimulus normalized TEOAE spectrogram may be regarded as the transfer function of the ear. This time-frequency display may be beneficial in providing a norm for testing hearing functioning using OAEs
