Abstract
After briefly reviewing a history of quantum dot lasers, the current state of the arts and current issues are discussed including low threshold quantum dot lasers with photonic crystal nano-cavity. In addition, recent advances in quantum information devices based on the quantum dots such as single photon emitters and entanglement photon pair generators, such as 200 k operation of single photon emitters using GaN quantum dots and single photon emitters at 1.5 mum will be presented. In the lecture, physics of correlated electrons in the quantum dots will be also discussed for quantum information devices.
