Abstract
Clinical aspects of many medical devices are often limited since they need a great deal of averaging before yielding an acceptable signal-to-noise ratio. By compiling the data into a two-dimensional image arrays, powerful image processing tools become available. Image filtering improves the S/N ratio much more than classical one-dimensional filtering: acquisition time of otoacoustic emissions may even be halved
