Abstract
Beamspace Matrix Pencil (BMP) method is a recently developed method which estimates Direction of Arrival (DOA) of plane wave signals in a computationally efficient way by utilizing a priori information in the form of rough estimate of DOA. However, in multiple snapshot scenarios its computational advantage over other matrix pencil methods is decreased. In this paper, we propose a Multiple Snapshot Beamspace Matrix Pencil (MSBMP) method which not only uses a priori information about DOA but also utilizes the frequency information (i.e. often available in sonar/radar applications). Consequently, the computational cost is further decreased without compromising the performance.
