Abstract
This study attempts to explore Chinese students´ beliefs and attitude towards Autonomous Language Learning (ALL) and ALL under Computer Assisted language learning (CALL) environment and the difference in attitude and beliefs towards ALL under CALL environment between good language learners (GL) and poor language learners (PL). The author designed the questionnaire composed by two parts - ALL Belief and ALL Belief under CALL environment. 100 valid questionnaires were adopted. The results of questionnaire and CET4 scores were analyzed by SPSS 13.0. Descriptive statistics was obtained to see the overall patterns of students´ attitude and belief towards ALL and ALL under CALL environment. A T-test is performed to examine the difference in attitude and belief between GL and PL. The major findings are: 1) most students are optimistic about the ALL and ALL under CALL environment 2) No significant difference of learners´ attitude and beliefs towards CALL between GL and PL.
