Abstract :
Explicit forms of the state and output equations of lumped/distributed networks in inhomogeneous media are derived. No restriction on the network topology is required. Multicoupled structures in inhomogeneous media occur frequently in microwave circuits, especially in integrated circuits. The effect of different mode propagation can easily be taken into consideration. Illustrative examples of microstrip circuits are analyzed. The derived formulas have been incorporated in computer-aided procedures for the analysis of lumped/distributed networks in the frequency and time domain. The developed program incorporating the state and output equations can deal with any number of coupled transmission lines in inhomogeneous media
