Abstract
A new compound controller is proposed to improve vehicle handing and stability by integrated control of direct yaw-moment control and active front steer. A vehicle model with the disturbances is founded. The new active front steer and yaw-moment control strategy based on robust adaptive control theory and the force distribution strategy suitable for complex conditions are designed. Control performance with steering input and mutation of road condition are investigated by simulation, and the results are compared with those with PID control. It is verified that the controller is effective on improving vehicle handing and stability.
