  • Abstract
The authors present the implementation and application of the sensitivity analysis features in Sspice. Sspice, a symbolic circuit analyzer and approximator, can solve for transfer functions and second-order filter parameters. An symbolic sensitivity function is available in Version 2.0. The results are either exact or approximated with a user-selected threshold. This allows complicated expressions to be symbolically approximated. The presented functions can be applied recursively. Users can manipulate these functions to obtain the solutions. Examples are provided that show that symbolic circuit analysis can give circuit designers another dimension of observation. With the approximation capability in Sspice, complicated equations can be simplified while maintaining sufficient accuracy
