Abstract

This informational paper describes our efforts to define a commercial IPv6 products standard and the creation of an industry based commercial program for the "branding" of IPv6 products. The program is establishing a forum for producers and consumers of IPv6 products to participate in the process of developing and maintaining an IPv6 product standard and branding program. A third party group consisting of The Open Group and the IPv6 Forum will moderate the new forum. The paper will detail the forum\´s plans for establishing a branding program, the benefits of IPv6 product branding to the DoD and other consumers, and the roles and responsibilities of members participating in the program, information on the test and certification procedures, and how to obtain COTS products "branded" by this open certification system
