Abstract :
In these years several types of power storage devices have been researched to commercialize various kinds of mobile equipments. In addition to the power storage devices themselves, the utilization has been studied since it has the potential to change the conventional power management. The effective integrations between power storage devices and conventional power sources have been developed and demonstrated for not only the mobile power management but also the stationary one. In this study, a power storage system is integrated into a high-efficient lean-burn gas engine in order to improve the operating stability at islanding operation by using the flexible power controllable capability of power storage system. We have designed and demonstrated the effective power control method of the power storage system to absorb the abrupt power change of a lean-burn gas engine, and to stabilize the operation when the load changes. This method provides the effective use of the limited capacity of the power storage system for the integration as well as the stable power supply by islanding operation.
