Abstract
Modeling and furnace experimentation conducted for the development of an electrode wear detection system for a glass melter are presented. Electrical measurements are used to determine in-glass electrode wear. Errors due to thermal imbalance in the melter are simulated in modeling. Techniques for significantly reducing those measurement errors are given.<>
