Abstract :
Interference of on-site noises always is the bottleneck of on-line partial discharge (PD) measurement technique that restricted its development. While conducting a testing on site, the existence of various noises easily leads to the wrong judgment of PD signal. Therefore, master the method of recognizing and analyzing PD signal will be critical to on-line PD measurement for high voltage power cable. This paper introduces the characteristics of PD signal, method of recognizing and analyzing PD signal, and method of discriminating PD signal versus background noise and specific noises caused by electric power system, provides guidance of making correct judgment for on-site PD measuring person.
