Abstract :
Based on transfer function theory, pulse propagation model of partial discharge in dry-type transformer with subsection and layer windings is established, and the voltage transfer-functions are gained from the simulation prototype, which are fitted with rational functions by the vector fitting and synthesized by lumped elements,and the simulating results from the circuit are in good agreement with the measured. The method provides the availability for a location of the partial discharge (PD) sources by taking the characteristic behaviors of dry-type transformer coils into account using their transfer functions.
