Abstract
This paper deals with the dynamic behavior of distribution systems with embedded distributed generation. It outlines the types of models needed for investigation of the dynamic interaction between the DG and the hosting system under disturbance conditions. It emphasizes the importance of conducting dynamic studies for the proper planning and operation of distribution systems with embedded DG units. It demonstrates the pitfalls of not conducting these studies.
