Abstract :
In this paper there is a new method for rotor break-bar fault diagnosis of asynchronous motors. the asymmetry of the rotor caused by break-bar fault will introduce fault feature component of (1-2s) f1 (s is slip and fs is supply frequency), the startup stator current signal is decomposed into several intrinsic mode function(IMF) through emporocal mode decomposition (EMD),meanwhile, According to contain the IMF component fault information can give the number of the rotor broken bars. Experimental results demonstrate that this method is feasible.
