Abstract :
Line reliability is highly influenced by weather, especially from thunderstorms. This presentation will provide an update on activities of the IEEE task force on weather normalization of reliability indices. Topics include sources of lightning and other weather data, most appropriate geographic and time scales, most influential weather parameters, ways to correlate with weather data, and how to normalize. The panel will also be updated on the task force paper that discusses these topics in detail.
