Abstract :
A procedure for the automated construction of simulation models of the ventricular conduction system from limited anatomical data has been developed. A set of points on the endocardial surface is selected as early activation sites, or connections with the myocardium. These points are then completely interconnected to form a distal conduction system network. A set of points is similarly selected and interconnected to present the anatomical pathways of the proximal conduction system. The two systems are discretized into a network of membrane elements, and connected to one another before simulations. With this procedure, it is possible to generate anatomically detailed simulation models from text descriptions and stained photographs of the conduction system.<>
