  • Abstract
This paper describes the development of competitive renewable energy zones (CREZ) in Texas from a transmission-planning perspective. The need for the CREZ designation process is described, as are the transmission planning studies, both completed and ongoing, that define the cost and benefits of options for developing additional transmission capacity.
