Abstract
The cloud masking of infrared images over the polar regions is a difficult task. The presented algorithm uses the differences of almost coincident overpasses of two sensors. Over the Antarctic continent the results are compared with total water vapor patterns from measurements of the microwave sounder SSM/T2
