Abstract :
An examination is made of how workstations are applied in steelmaking with specific emphasis on the four-level approach, namely, input/output, interface, workstation, and network. Software architecture is discussed along with the various process utilizing workstations. Factors relating to system complexity, standardization, and costs are briefly discussed.<>
