Abstract
This work compares the relative efficacies of two simulated population space-saving compact genetic algorithm (CGA) variants against a realistic EH control problem. Comparisons are made between the variants and between them and no population and true population versions of the algorithm. A clearly superior algorithm for this application is designated and implications for other EH efforts are considered.
