  • Abstract
The advancements in technologies have created possibilities for innovative teaching and learning methods in higher education. These possibilities include mixing of technology-based learning with the traditional face-to-face teaching and learning strategies to maximize the usage of human expertise and technology resources for the benefit of the students. As existing pedagogies are appended with new ones, there is a need to assess their effectiveness from the students´ perspective. This research analyses and presents the findings of different virtual learning environments, where it involved second and final year computer and information science undergraduate students at a higher educational organization in the United Arab Emirates. The studies involved two international courses, where pre-defined learning outcomes are achieved, and assessments are carried out successfully. The investigation undertaken in this study gave an indication of how effective virtual international learning was, as teaching strategies.
