  • Abstract
    The IRIG-B time code becomes the suitable standard code for time unified system because of its superior capacity, and widely used in time information transmission system. The paper discusses the IRIG-B code applied in Phase Measurement Unit (PMU) for its need in power system. Power system requirements PMU clock synchronization error is less than 1μs. By utilizing the advantages of the IRIG-B time code, the paper designs clock synchronization system for PMU. It gives the design framework of master and slave clock in clock synchronization system of WAMS based on PMU, and describes the method of code and encode for IRIG-B code used by FPGA. The result shows that IRIG-B can improve the measurement accuracy.
