Abstract
Fixation of a near target evokes three motor responses: lens, eye movement and pupil response, the oculomotor “near triad”. Failures in the near triad control process are a frequent source of clinical complaint. When surgical intervention is used to correct these failure, the resultant modification of the motor plant can provide new insights in the complex interactive structure of the near triad
