Abstract :
Photoluminescence spectra were investigated for Tb-doped sol-gel derived yttrium-alumina garnets (YAG). The value of full width at half maximum (FWHM) for the band 5D4rarr7F5 of Tb3+ in diverse terbium-doped materials was compared, revealing the lowest PL band for Tb-doped garnets 2 nm after annealing of xerogel at 900degC.
