Abstract
The authors have implemented the Horsfield model of the canine airway tree on a 486 personal computer. The model includes constant-phase terminal tissue compartments and incorporates statistical variation in the model parameters. Simulations performed on the model show that the introduction of heterogeneity in the airway radii increases the overall lung impedance
