Abstract :
This paper presents a novel scheme for imaging defects in dielectric materials using microwave tomography techniques. The novelty lies in the use of deformable mirrors to deflect the microwaves in predictable directions towards the object under test. The deformable mirror consists of a continuum of reflecting elements that yields multi-view field measurements that can be used to tomographically reconstruct the spatial dielectric property of the object. A study showing the computational feasibility of the proposed technique is presented for heterogeneous two dimensional dielectric scatterers.
