  • Abstract
    The essence of the partial element equivalent circuit (PEEC) is to interpret all the elements of a full matrix in the method of moments (MoM) as corresponding circuit elements. The attraction of the PEEC is to use circuit elements in dealing with electromagnetic field problems. However, the circuit complexity of the PEEC has not been alleviated, which is equal to the complexity of the MoM matrix. To simplify the PEEC model, i.e. to reduce the number of circuit components of the PEEC, an exact matrix thinning technique is used to obtain a set of non-uniform transmission line equations where the number of elements become minimum. The numerical example of a monopole antenna shows that the results obtained by the simplified PEEC are the same as those obtained by the MoM.
