  • Abstract
    Using C-band data (h-pol) from the ERS-2 AMI scatterometer and Ku-band data (dual-pol) from the NASA Scatterometer we study the seasonal signatures of key vegetation classes in North America. We compare the seasonal responses of vegetation types defined by both Matthew´s classification and the University of Maryland AVHRR-based classification. We then use the seasonal response in a series of vegetation classification experiments
