Abstract
Keystone formatting (KF) has the capability of compensating multiple targets´ (including ground clutter) range walk simultaneously without using any specific knowledge of the target motion. However, due to serious Doppler ambiguity of the fast moving targets, KF will affect the distribution of the clutter and degrade the Space-Time Adaptive Processing (STAP) performance. Based on the above reasons, the impacts of KF on the clutter distribution are analyzed firstly, and then the impacts of KF on STAP are analyzed. The conclusions obtained are helpful to figure out better methods for fast dim air moving target detection.
