Abstract
For the ecological management of a South Baltic coastal region in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern (Germany) especially data and efficient interpretation methods are needed which enable current status analyses and forecasts, for example about the short-term and long-term landscape changes. The paper describes an algorithm for the classification of biotope and land-use types based on airborne scanner data taken from DAEDALUS AADS 1268. By means of comparison of the classification results with the CIR aerial photo interpretation and with the classification of LANDSAT TM data, the advantages and disadvantages of the airborne scanner data for coastal zone monitoring are shown
