Abstract :
Global multitemporal composited AVHRR 1-km2 spatial resolution data sets are being extensively used to prototype the MODIS Land Cover Classification algorithm. Results indicate that this method of prototyping prior to instrument launch is valid and useful even though the absolute results are significantly limited by the inherent data incompatibilities described in this paper
