Abstract
In preparation for the next SAR-X/SIR-C Shuttle mission, we devised an experiment aimed to compare the classical HH inversion algorithm for the retrieval of ocean wave spectra from SAR images, with a new method based on the use of cross-spectra. The results obtained with the two methods are compared and discussed. They stress the importance of the cross-spectra method which does not require a “first guess spectrum” for initializing the inversion procedure
