Abstract
Experimental results of 6.25 GHz radiothermal radiation at sites of salted and non-salted soils (under identical meteorological conditions) are presented. It is shown that the parameters of surface roughness, soil moisture profile and evaporation after intensive short-term irrigation depend on of soil surface layer salinity. This results in a distinction in the emissivity of the salted and non-salted sites for the processes of drying and freezing/thawing. The value of initial brightness contrast and speed of its change depend on the difference in salinity of the test sites
