Abstract :
The Southern Great Plains 1997 (SGP97) Hydrology Experiment was designed to address several important issues in the remote sensing of soil moisture. An exceptionally wide range of microwave instrumentation was used in the experiment. All data collected in SGP97 are being assembled as a part of the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center´s Distributed Active Archive Center (DAAC). A review of the SGP97 field campaign, selected research highlights, and a description of the data bases are presented
