Abstract :
In the research for new energy, hydrogen energy, like solar and wind energy, is called green energy. Fractional hydrogen can be produced through transition from the ground state to the lower energy level which principal quantum number is fractional, while hydrogen atom reacts with certain catalytic particles (such as Ar+), simultaneously releasing large amounts of energy. This paper studies the extraordinary line broadening phenomenon of hydrogen Balmer α line in hydrogen-argon plasma. The results are two: by using hollow cathode discharge tube the presence of “fast” hydrogen is confirmed, and the relationship between extraordinary broadening and ratio of argon and hydrogen is consistent with characteristics of catalytic reactions; through a method of comparative study, a coaxial dual hollow cathode discharge device was built, and by this device a clearer extraordinary broadening line is acquired (half-width of Balmer α line broadening reach 0.245nm).
