Abstract
The implementation of the downlink radiation pattern in cellular systems is analyzed, taking into account the mutual coupling effects between the elements of the antenna array. Our focus is on the transformation of the real array into an ideal one. The obtained downlink radiation pattern matches very accurately the original uplink one. The method can be applied to any beamforming technique.
