Abstract :
In this paper, the propagation characteristics of electromagnetic waves along a tightly wound helical line around an azimuthally magnetized ferrite tube and shielded by a coaxially placed circular waveguide has been investigated. The system operates at a non surface wave condition where inflection points in the dispersion curves are apparent and the waveguide is determinant not only for preventing radiation but, also, for location of the inflection points - important for transmitting pulsed signals with a minimum of distortion. No limitations on the elements of the ferrite tensor are imposed. Computed dispersion curves are presented with the purpose of implementing systems of pulsed transmission of signals.
