Abstract
The authors describe how standards and procedures for an electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) laboratory were developed over a five-year period. As with any process, there was a need for an effective system to be in place so that the operation and maintenance of process activities can be performed. The need for applicable standards in the EMC testing of industrial products and easily understood operating procedures would provide lab users the information needed in the proper testing of products. This, in turn, would help in reducing the time required to get a new product to market with customer-expected EMC robustness
