Abstract :
We present the optical generation of microwave/millimeter-wave (MMW) signals with high modulation indexes using a partial gain-coupled two-section DFB laser. Stabilization of frequency of the self-pulsation signal is investigated. Reduction of signal linewidth from 4 MHz to less than 200 kHz has been realized with optical feedback loops. The devices used in this investigation were two-section partially gain-coupled multiquantum-well (MQW) DFB lasers
