Abstract :
A two-dimensional finite-element method is presented for analyzing the angular independent modes (TEom and THom) and the characteristics of a cylindrical symmetrical dielectric resonator. This method is applicable to complex-boundary problems and inhomogeneous dielectrics under circular symmetry condition, without limiting the permittivity range of the dielectric. The resonant frequency of the TEo1δ mode in a practical resonator is computed using the proposed method
